Life's New Adventure

1926, Bremen pier, Fritz said goodbye, Left his family weeping beneath a heavy sky. Engineer Fred Zerbe’s dreams in his pocket, not much coin to spare, Sailed for America, chasing fortune there.

Life’s new adventure, across the wide sea, Bright future calling—what will it be? Hope in his heart, stars overhead, Who knows how it ends? He's moving ahead.

Ellis Island lights, the twenties roaring loud, He designed machines by day, felt suddenly proud. Met Hilde at a dance, a Bremen girl like him, Soulmates found each other—love crossed the ocean’s rim.

Life’s new adventure, with love by my side, Bright future rising, no more need to hide. Hope in their hearts, stars overhead, Together they'll face it, whatever’s ahead.

’29 crashed hard, the job slipped away, Son born in ’33, daughter in ’37, Fritz rode the rails each day. Letters kept them breathing through the hungry years, Till fate turned again and dried their tears.

Back to the company, head engineer he rose, Built a life that lasted, through highs and lows. '67 retirement, cabin by the lake, Ten quiet years with Hilde—for love’s own sake.

Life’s new adventure, through music lyrics and the long road they'd run, From lonely shores to family, two hearts become one. Hope carried them through, every storm and every day, We know how it ended… in love they found their way.
